IMG_4560 Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe of Canada is celebrating their Golden Anniversary (50 years) in 2016.

The group kicked off celebrations with a fundraising dinner/dance on Saturday, April 9, at the Pearson Convention Centre in Brampton, Ontario.  Performances from the various Alumni performing artists, highlighted the evening, including the Fiesta “Golden Girls” (some of the original dancers in the 60’s). Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe will be busy this summer with their annual activities.

On Saturday June 4, they will crown their muse for 2016, in the personality beauty pageant Miss Manila. This contest originated when Fiesta Filipina needed a muse to represent the Manila Pavilion when Festival International Caravan, in Toronto had existed.

Along with the Federation of Filipino-Canadians of Brampton, they will represent the Philippine Pavilion at Brampton’s Multicultural festival July 8-10. As co-sponsors and committee members for the Filipino Mississauga festival – Fiesta Ng Kalayaan – they will showcase Filipino foods, culture and entertainment at the two-day festival in Celebration Square on Saturday, July 30 and July 31.

They will have their annual gala show at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Ontario in ‘Gintong Lakbay’ (Golden Journey).  

General Admission is $25, $15 for Seniors and Students.
